Calling All Veterans
If you are an American military Veteran, honorably discharged and would like to go on one of our honor flights, please submit this online Veteran application. It would be our honor to take you to Washington D.C. and visit the memorials that have been built in your honor. We are currently accepting Veteran applications from WWII, Korea, Cold War and Vietnam era Veterans only (requires enlistment date prior to May 7, 1975), and critically ill Veterans from all eras (with doctor documentation).
The Hawaiian Islands Honor Flight celebrates American Veterans for your sacrifices and achievements by flying you to Washington, D.C. to see the memorials at no cost. In order for The Hawaiian Islands Honor Flight to achieve this goal, Guardians fly with the Veterans on every flight providing assistance and helping Veterans have a safe, memorable, and rewarding experience. Please consider this as a small token of appreciation from all of us at The Hawaiian Islands Honor Flight for what you
and your comrades have given to us. Application date and age are both factored in selecting Veterans for each flight, with priority given to critically ill. We will be contacting you by phone or email when there is a seat available for you on our next flight. You will receive an email confirmation after you submit this online application.
Assistance is provided for each Veteran on the trip and as such each Veteran will travel with a Guardian, whether it is a family member, friend, or a volunteer Guardia that we assign. YOUR SPOUSE, PARTNER OR SIGNIFICANT OTHER ARE NOT ELIGIBLE TO BE YOUR GUARDIAN. If you would like to name a specific relative or friend to be your Guardian on the trip, please list his or her name and phone number. Although not guaranteed, we will make every effort to accommodate your request.
Again… YOUR SPOUSE, PARTNER OR SIGNIFICANT OTHER ARE NOT ELIGIBLE TO BE YOUR GUARDIAN. Please note there is a Guardian fee of $1000.00 and a separate application is required. Being a Guardian is very hard work. Guardians must be in good physical shape with no impairments and capable of handling all luggage and able to push your wheelchair when needed. (Each Veteran will be provided a wheelchair for use on the trip and wheelchair usage is required at certain stops).
